Preface: Everyday Geology
"Nowadays, phones, computers, laptops, and EVs are everywhere, making life more accessible and convenient. With just a tap of your finger, you can search for information, stay updated with the latest news, or even control your home robots. Technology has advanced humanity far beyond the simplicity of the Stone Age."
However, rocks and stones remain deeply connected to our development. From ancient tools and shelters to modern construction and raw materials for technology, the Earth's minerals have always been fundamental to human progress.
It might sound dramatic, but it's true—we rely on minerals as the foundation of technology, foundation of building, and even petroleum or gas powers the travel and transportation we depend on every day.
These are the significance of geology that we must understand. Geology is all around me and you — in places we can see and even in those we cannot. It’s the foundation of everything we rely on, both visible and hidden.
Geology is all around us, where you can see.
Look at the rocks under your feet, the soil in your garden, the flowing river nearby, or the hills in the distance.
These everyday features hold the secrets of Earth's processes—its minerals, rock cycles, tectonic movements, and the forces of erosion and weathering that have shaped the world we see today.
Example: The photographs below illustrate how fascinating the structures we build and the roads we travel rely on geology.

From the solid foundations beneath our cities to the materials used in construction, the above images showcase the rock formations and geological features that provide the stability we depend on.
The ground we walk on is not just soil—it's a complex, dynamic system that shapes and supports our modern infrastructure.
"How do you enjoy the astonishing materials of the Earth or the ambiance of the environment around you?"
Let me guide you to the places in planet and things I’ve discovered. If you ever have the chance, you can experience them too. Sometimes, we just need to slow down, take a moment, and truly observe the wonders of nature—the beauty of Earth’s creations and its breathtaking landscapes.
All of this is why I love geology and enjoy the story of the Earth. To me, it’s like art or a natural sculpture—something you can see and touch. You might think it’s funny to care so much about how the Earth was formed. After all, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts seem way more interesting.
But think about it—you always take photos of landscapes, ancient buildings, or oceans and call them the most beautiful places you’ve ever seen. That beauty comes from Earth’s story, shaped over millions or billions of years.
Sit tight and let’s appreciate how the Earth tells its story through its remarkable formations and environments.
This chapter is meant to inspire you and spark your curiosity, making you want to flip the page and dive into the next chapter I have prepared for you.
"I want this blog to feel like an electronic book—concise, engaging, and visually rich. Rather than overwhelming you with endless text, I’ll share my thoughts, insights, and photographs (when available). My aim is to build a fast, high-performance website that captures memorable moments from my travels and research. With that vision in mind, let’s dive into the first step: Chapter 1—Minerals."
You can support us by treating the writer to a coffee—or maybe some jazz music if that’s your vibe (no, it doesn’t mean we’re old)! This is just a part-time passion project, so be patient and stay excited for what we’ll present to you next!
Next Chapter: Minerals
How many common minerals you know? Are there others out there that you haven’t discovered yet?
